Please can you remind me what format the film should be on? Is it mpeg1 or mpeg2 Or what?

MPEG1 suitable for conversion for VCD.

The FAQ on the site gives more details
about this.

However, if anyone is having difficultly
converting their video into MPEG1, I should
be able to convert most formats from a CD.
